Prosthetic leg in Turkey: below-knee and above-knee prostheses
A well-fitting socket, the right foot and the right knee make the difference between a prosthesis you tolerate and one you live with. At Asyamed Ortopedi in Istanbul every prosthetic leg is designed and fitted individually.
Below-knee prostheses
For below-knee amputees we offer silicone liners with pin-lock, passive vacuum and active vacuum suspension. Vacuum systems hold the residual limb closely in the socket, reduce volume changes during the day and make the prosthesis feel lighter.
Above-knee prostheses
The knee joint is the key component above the knee. Mechanical knees are simple and robust; hydraulic knees adapt to different walking speeds; microprocessor knees control every step with sensors and add safety on stairs, ramps and when stumbling.
Prosthetic feet
From stable feet for limited walking to carbon energy-storing feet for active users and sport, the foot is chosen according to your activity level (K1–K4).

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to get a prosthetic leg in Turkey?
It depends on the amputation level and the components. Measurement, test fitting and delivery are planned with as few visits as possible; we confirm the timeline after reviewing your case.
Can my socket be replaced without changing the whole prosthesis?
Yes. If your knee and foot are in good condition, we can make a new socket and re-align the prosthesis.
Do you fit prostheses for children?
Yes. Children need regular follow-up and new sockets as they grow; we plan this together with the family.
